UTICA, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – A Utica Police officer suffered a minor injury to his hand during a foot pursuit in North Utica Monday morning.
Police had attempted a traffic stop on Coventry Ave, at Trenton Ave, around 11:00AM Monday. During the stop, a front seat passenger ran from the vehicle, heading north on Coventry Ave. while fleeing, police observed the suspect grabbing at the waistband of his pants. The suspect ran into St. Peter’s Cemetery and attempted to bury an object in the snow. That object was a 9 mm ghost gun.
Taken into custody was Noor Dulo, 21 years old, from Utica. He has been charged with Second Degree Criminal Possession of a weapon and Criminal Possession of a firearm.
During the incident, a Utica Police officer sustained a laceration to one of their hands.
