UTICA, N.Y. (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that a man in Utica has been arrested after verbally abusing 911 dispatchers over a period of several days.

33-year-old Jahquin Hoston of Utica was recently arrested at the Oneida County Office Building for unrelated charges. After being released from custody, Hoston began to call 911 with the sole intention of harassing Emergency Service Personnel.

Hoston allegedly called upwards of 30 times a day, during which he would use “abusive and vulgar language” towards the dispatchers on the phone. Oneida County Sheriff Deputies and Utica Police Department Officers performed several ‘welfare’ checks on Hoston, warning him to stop.

Ultimately, Hoston was charged with the following and is being held for arraignment

  • Aggravated Harassment (Misdemeanor)
