Warning Area Now Includes Herkimer County Area

The National Weather Service in Binghamton has issued a

Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Oneida County until 7:45 PM EDT and 8:00PM in Herkimer County. At 6:44 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 8 miles north of Boonville to near Delta Lake to near Verona, moving east at 70 mph. At 7:03 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 7 miles southeast of McKeever to Hinckley to New York

Mills, moving east at 70 mph.

60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail are associated with this system. Hail damage to vehicles and wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees can be expected.

Locations impacted include:

Utica, Rome, Kirkland, Verona, Westmoreland, Trenton, Paris, Deerfield, Floyd and Whitesboro.

Ilion, Herkimer, Little Falls, Mohawk, Frankfort, Dolgeville, Ohio, West Winfield, Newport, Stratford, Middleville, Poland, Cold Brook, Jordanville, Northwood, Cedarville, Russia, Fairfield, Elizabethtown and Norway.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Heavy rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

There are multiple reports of trees down and flooding.
