ONEIDA COUNTY, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) — The New York State Department of Transportation has announced a set of ramp closures in along State Route 8 for Saturday, September 23.
Several exit and entrance ramps on State Route 8 will be closed on this day to facilitate paving operations, weather permitting. The closures will take place in a set sequence, beginning at 6 am. They are expected to be completed by the end of the day.
The sequence of ramp closures is as follows:
- Campion Road, Utica
- Washington Mills
- Sauquoit
- Clayville
Motorists will be asked to seek alternate routes to these areas while work is being done. Variable message signs will notify motorists of the work being done.
Motorists are also urged to slow down in work zones, as fines are doubled for speeding in work zones. Two or more convictions may result in the suspension of the offender’s license.
