MARCY, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) — A New Hartford man was taken to the hospital on Tuesday, October 31 after a three-car accident in the town of Marcy.
Oneida County Sheriffs reported to the scene at the intersection of Chaminade Road and Old River Road in the town of Marcy at approximately 4:00 PM on Tuesday, October 31. Further investigation determined that the first car — driven by 25-year-old Dustin Howard of New York Mills — was driving south on Chaminade Road and failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign.
Howard then proceeded through the intersection and was struck by the second vehicle, driven by 19-year-old Aaron Smith of New Hartford. Smith was proceeding west on Old River Road. After the collision, Smith’s vehicle continued west before exiting the roadway and striking a third parked vehicle in a nearby driveway.
Smith was subsequently transported to Rome Health with non-life-threatening injuries. Howard was not injured in the accident; however, he was issued a citation for failure to yield at a stop sign, returnable to the Marcy Town Court at a later date.
The Oneida County Sheriffs were assisted on the scene by the Stittville Fire Department, Kunkel Ambulance, Cushman’s Towing and Delahunt’s Towing.
