UTICA, N.Y. (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – The Saranac Brewery kicked off the summer and welcomed back live music with legendary headliner ‘Stone Temple Pilots’ and their opener ‘Robot Monster’ on Saturday, May 21st.
The anticipation and excitement of people who have been waiting for live music to come back to the area since the first COVID-19 restrictions were put in place over two years ago resonated throughout the venue as people waited for the show to start.
“So, I guess this is Welcome back! This is our first concert of the year. This is our first concert in a couple of years, so we’re really glad to have you back. This is our brewery. We can’t do this without you guys, so thank you so much for coming. Have a great night tonight, be safe and enjoy Stone Temple Pilots, it will be awesome. Thanks so much.” – Fred Matt, President of Saranac Brewery
The ‘Stone Temple Pilots’ made sure the return of live music was a memorable one for the Brewery, rocking the stage with several fan favorites including ‘Wicked Garden’ and ‘Plush’. Lead singer Jeff Gutt had great chemistry with the rest of the band and delivered an energetic performance that resonated with the Central New York crowd.
Show opener ‘Robot Monster’, a two-member rock band from New Haven Connecticut also delivered a great high-energy set, with a sound that can be described as a more modern industrial rock.
After a long night of loud music, a screaming crowd, and the smell of alcohol in the air, the show ended with the ‘Stone Temple Pilots’ inviting the ‘Robot Monster’ back up onto the state, and the two bands performing a final song together.
