Utica, N.Y. (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – In an effort to address quality of life issues throughout the city of Utica, Mayor Palmieri conducted his first Quality of Life Sweep on Hopper Street on the morning of April 13th.

“I made a promise to the public that we would bring out our department heads – we would get out of the ivory tower – so they would have the ability to be able to talk to the police chief, fire chief, urban and economic commissioner, codes commissioner, animal control, DPW – we want to bring the city out to the people and bring the hope back,” said Mayor Palmieri.

While the city is willing to do its part to clean up the community, the mayor is asking for the public’s help as well.

“Keep it safe, keep it clean – embrace the fact that we have a great community, we’re a growing community, and we can’t do it without the partnership of the residents and our business owners,” said Palmieri.
