Oneida County begins 'Boost OC Vaccination Incentive Program'

ONEIDA COUNTY, N.Y. (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente, Jr. today announced that 14,000 $100 e-gift cards are now being distributed for redemption at more than 100 local businesses as part of the Boost OC Vaccination Incentive Program.

Partnering with Prizeout, Oneida County is providing a $100 e-gift card to all Oneida County residents who receive a vaccination or a booster after July 15, 2021. The program, funded under the authority of the American Rescue Plan, has a total budget of $2.5 million.

“Boost OC advances two goals, it encourages people to get vaccinated and it directs these funds, almost $1.4 million to date, to be spent with local businesses and organizations- a win, win for Oneida County,” Picente said.

Eligible residents will be contacted directly by Prizeout in the coming days via a text to the cell phone number or email address they provided at the time of vaccination, describing how to redeem their e-gift card.

Currently, 64 % of Oneida County residents are fully vaccinated and 69% have received their first dose.

Picente also encouraged local small businesses and organizations that have not yet joined the program to signup online at www.BOOSTOC.org to allow county residents to spend their e-gift cards with them.

“It’s fast, it’s easy and it will help your bottom line,” Picente added. “With the holiday season coming, it’s a great way to help sales.”
