MARSHALL, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) — New York State Police in Marcy are investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Saturday, September 16 in the town of Marshall.
According to the New York State Police, officers were called to Shanley Road, west of Ford Road in the town of Marshall to investigate the accident. Further investigation found that the pickup truck — driven by 61-year-old Patrick Dougherty of Clinton — was traveling westbound on Shanley Road when he drove off of the shoulder. His truck then struck a tree and overturned multiple times before striking a utility pole.
Dougherty was pronounced dead at the scene.
State Police were assisted at the scene by the Paris Hill Fire Department and the Edwards Ambulance Service of Chadwicks.
The accident remains under investigation by the New York State Police.
