Vaccinated People Can Be Maskless In Certain Situations

UTICA, NY (WUTR) — New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that the state will abide by the CDC guidelines instituted last week, the date of the change of policy in the state will be Wednesday May 19th. By those CDC guidelines, fully vaccinated people can resume activities without wearing a mask or physically distancing, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance.

In making the announcement Monday morning, Cuomo said that regardless of vaccination status, masks are still required to be worn on public transportation, in nursing homes, at homeless shelters, correctional facilities, schools and in healthcare facilities. Cuomo also noted that private venues may still impose additional requirements regarding the wearing of masks and social distancing.
