NEW YORK MILLS, N.Y. (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – The Village of New York Mills has announced that it’s holding its annual ‘Christmas on Main Street’ event this year and is inviting people from local communities to “come spend a fun filled holiday evening with them!”

The event is taking place from 6pm to 8pm on Friday December 10th and will have activities for everyone to enjoy. These include Santa Claus on location, horse drawn sleigh rides, performances by the NYM High School Bands and Choirs, and more.

There is also a mailbox that you can drop letters into for Santa to respond to. Letters must be received by December 10th during our Christmas on Main Street Event and must include your name and address.

“Once again, we have received permission from Old St. Nick himself to use our “special” mailbox for all of your letters to Santa.  It will be placed at the Pulaski Park right near the gazebo.  Just look for the giant blow up Santa!” – Amy A. Topor, Village Clerk

The Village is also holding a food drive are encouraging people to donate, the proceeds of which go directly to our local veterans.

“This year we will be focusing on the needs of the veterans, we will be collecting non-perishable food items which will to help to provide meals and supplies for the many, less fortunate veterans in our area. There will also be a donation box available for the collection of hats, scarves and gloves.” – Amy A. Topor, Village Clerk

6:00 PM: The Christmas Bonfire will be lit.
6:15 PM: Parade of Lights (Lighted Fire Trucks from local communities)
6:30 PM: Lighting of the Village Christmas Tree – New York Mills Optimist Club
6:30 PM: NYM High School Choir performs around the fire.
7:00 PM: The NYM Band performs
6PM-8PM: Horse Drawn Sleigh Rides will be running continuously through the village
