ONEONTA, NY (WUTR) – Hartwick College in Oneonta is joining the growing list of schools requiring COVID vaccinations for the Fall 2021 semester. Hartwick President Margaret Drugovich made the announcement Wednesday saying, “Vaccination will be the key to our safe and full return in the fall.”
According to the announcement, all students and college employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to the start of the Fall semester. The deadline to comply, for all who will live, study or work on campus, is August 1, 2021.
Earlier in the week, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that all students who will attend SUNY or CUNY schools must be fully vaccinated in order to attend classes in the fall. Across the country, nearly 400 colleges have also instituted the COVID vaccine requirement.
