ROME, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – As the Taylor Swift “Eras Tour” rolls on at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey over the weekend, residents of the Grand Rehabilitation Center in Rome came up with a unique way to honor the singer.
According to the rehabilitation center, several residents loved to listen to the pop superstar during their daily activities. The group – aged 71 to 85 – decided that a nice way to honor the singer would be to recreate some of her popular album covers with their pictures.
“It’s Taylor Swift, wonderful old ladies, and cuteness,” Grand Home Creative Director Shelley Serber said. From there, according to Serber, the Facebook posts went viral, popping up on Taylor Swift fan groups all over the world.
“The members of the fan groups are absolutely eating it up. It’s a thrill for these women to see,” Serber said.
In a project organized by The Grand’s activities department, residents worked together with staff members to recreate the covers. From “Fearless” to “Red” to “Reputation,” the residents added their own charm and personality to the albums.
“Through their Taylor Swift-inspired re-creations, they have shown us their passion and artistry. It has been a true testament to her music to uplift and inspire”, Leigh Nicholas, The Grand at Rome’s Director of Rehabilitation, said in a statement.
