The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for parts of Central New York in effect Sunday evening through Monday morning (July 11-12).
Showers develop Sunday afternoon and will be heavy at times with thunder also possible. Due to recent heavy rainfall and high river levels, additional rainfall may cause localized flash flooding. This is especially true in poor drainage areas and spots that have very wet soils from recent rains.
Those living in flood-prone areas should have an evacuation plan ready and prepare to take action should flooding develop.
