VERONA, N.Y. (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – New York State Police have reported that they are investigating a fatal two-vehicle car accident that has left a 79-year-old Rome woman dead on Thursday December 2nd.
Around 12:40pm 79-year-old Judith Webb of Rome was driving southbound on State Route 46 in her 2008 Ford Fusion, along with a 74-year-old female passenger. At the same time 36-year-old Cory D. Delahunt, also from Rome, was heading North in his 2008 Honda Pilot when he crossed into the opposite lane and struck Mrs. Webb’s vehicle head-on.
Unfortunately, Mrs. Webb was pronounced dead by the time emergency services arrived on the scene. Her passenger did survive and was airlifted by Mercy Flight to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse and is currently listed in stable condition.
Cory Delahunt sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Utica.

State Police were assisted at the scene by the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, New London Fire Department, and AM Care Ambulance.
