UTICA, N.Y. (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – The Utica Regional Office of the New York State Department of Transportation has issued a travel advisory for Routes 5/12 between French Road interchange and Wilbur Road starting Tuesday, May 31st.

Drivers traveling southbound from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Routes 5/12 between French Road interchange and Wilbur Road will encounter a left closure due to construction work on the center pier.

Drivers can expect to see variable message signs (V.M.S.) showing the road closures and directing drivers to the correct detours. Motorists are urged to slow down, to drive responsibly, and are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in work zones.
