UTICA, N.Y. (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – As the fight to keep Roe v Wade intact continues, Indivisible Mohawk Valley held ‘Bans Off Our Bodies’ march on Saturday, May 12th.

“Ideally we all want freedom and that’s really the goal with us protesting and with us marching and wanting our voices to be heard it is the freedom to choose,” said Crystal Faria, a member of the organizing team.

The march will start here at the YWCA at 7 Rutger Park and will be ending at the Nurses’ Candlelight Park next to Planned Parenthood.

“The Planned Parenthood was a clear choice we made sure there they weren’t seeing patients that day to uh just be visible and let people know that this is a concern for all of us,” said Jill Farnham-Us.

This march is just one of many happening rallies happening across the country on May 14th as part of a nationwide campaign. The event will include speakers from co-sponsoring organizations Planned Parenthood, Citizen Action, the Unitarian Universalist Church of Utica, and Temple Emanu-el.

“It’s around the country there are literally hundreds of marches and we have already signed up 200 people I’ve already heard of a lot of people who are coming who haven’t signed up,” said Farnham-Us.
