UTICA, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – Utica Police made a quick arrest in a strong arm robbery in West Utica Saturday night.
Shortly before 9:30PM Saturday police were called to the 700 block of Robert Street, a one block street that runs between the Route 12 Arterial and Sunset Ave in West Utica. The victim told police that they were walking home from a convenience store when they were approached by a masked man on a bicycle. The man on the bike demanded the walker’s cellphone and wallet. The suspect pushed the victim up against a fence and forcibly took what they had demanded and fled.
Police were nearby and responded quickly. They were given a description of the suspect and found a person who matched the description not far away, near the intersection of Court St and State St.
Police arrested 19 year old Jayland Loadholt of Utica. Loadholt has been charged with Third Degree Robbery.
