Absentees May Flip Two Oneida County Legislative Races

Reale Leads Mowat and Leone In Front Of Venetozzi

UTICA, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – Adding absentee ballots to the vote tally in Oneida County has flipped the Election Night results in two Oneida County Legislative races. According to the Oneida County Board of Elections, with the absentees included, Caroline Reale holds a 25 vote lead over Heather Mowat in the race for the county’s legislative seat in the 15th District. In the 23rd Oneida County legislative district, incumbent Anthony Leone, Jr has a 34 vote lead over Regina Pieloch Venetozzi.

On Election Night, Mowat had a 17 vote lead over Reale in the 15st legislative district that represents parts of New Hartford. As of Wednesday morning, with absentee ballots included, here are the unofficial results:

ONEIDA COUNTY 15TH LEGISLATIVE DISTRICT

In the race for Oneida County’s 23rd legislative seat, Regina Pieloch Venetozzi had a 34 vote lead over the Anthony Leone. The 23rd District represents most of North Utica and a portion of East Utica. As of Wednesday morning, with absentee ballots included, here are the unofficial results:

ONEIDA COUNTY 23RD LEGISLATIVE DISTRICT

Regina Pieloch Venetozzi (R,C)   1,033

Two other county legislative races that were closely contested on Election Night did not see a change in results with absentees added. Jeff Daniels maintained his lead over Joseph Furgol in the 18th District and Tony Myers maintained his lead over incumbent Lori Washburn in the 21st District.

The results are unofficial and have not yet been certified.
