Local Case Brings up Topic of Mental Health and Guns


You may have heard the story of Michael Rotondo, the 30-year-old Camillus man evicted by his parents.
The Daily Mail now reports Rotondo admitted to having mental health issues, and owns a rifle.

It’s a complicated issue the Oneida County District Attorney, Scott McNamara, said has been a topic of discussion for years. Legally, law enforcement is not allowed to enter the home of someone who owns a firearm with the intentions of taking their weapon without probable cause or a felony conviction. Eyewitness News reporter Julia LeBlanc explains why this can get tangled.
