(WUTR-TV) — According to Governor Cuomo on April 9th, outdoor amusement parks can reopen at 33% capacity. At Enchanted Forest in Old Forge, they’ve already been making preparations.
“We’ve started rehiring. Once the snow melts here in old forge we’ll be getting outdoors and preparing in that manner but planned as if we were going to open so hearing this news is great for us and we’re super excited.” – Katie Wojdyla, Vice President And Director Of Marketing, Enchanted Forest
Katie says it hasn’t been easy. As a business that relies on large crowds, the past year has been tough.
“From the time we’ve closed in 2019 to when we’ll reopen in June of this year it’s been 21.5 months. It’s a challenge in regards to spending and work schedules and things like that but we’ve gotten through,” – Katie Wojdyla, Vice President And Director Of Marketing, Enchanted Forest
All outdoor amusement parks must submit their reopening plans to their local health departments. Staff and patrons must follow the COVID guidelines and have temperature screenings before entry.
“Certainly we anticipate the social distancing, obviously the reduced capacity. That will look different and we just have to understand everything before we can make sure our guests are aware of exactly what will happen when we reopen our doors.” – Katie Wojdyla, Vice President And Director Of Marketing, Enchanted Forest
They’re also looking for more employees. Anyone interested can apply on their website watersafari.com.
