JPC Secures 26 Pallets of Facemasks For The Community

(Utica, NY) – As the Central New York region begins to see a shortage of facemasks, The Johnson Park Center is please to announce that they have secured thousands of facemasks from FEMA and will be giving them away to the local community. This event is being held at the Johnson Park Center in Utica, in two phases.
The first phase is being held November 19th and Friday November 20th from 1pm to 5pm. The event is available to anyone that lives in the Utica, Rome, Mohawk Valley, and the surrounding area. Not-For-Profit Organizations, Homeless Emergency, Transitional & Supportive Housing Providers; Senior Homes; Medical/Treatment Service Providers; Grassroots Outreach Community Groups; Churches; Food Pantries; Government Agencies can register at the JPC to receive the facemasks.
The second phase will be a continuation of phase one, but will be held on Monday, November 23rd from 2pm to 7:30pm, as well as, Tuesday, November 24th from 3pm to 6pm. These are also the same dates for their Drive-thru Food Giveaway and the Walkers Food Giveaway.
Rev. Dr. Maria A Scates, D.D., CEO/Founder states, “Unfortunately, as our community currently has a substantial increase of Coronavirus cases. JPC hopes that from now on, no one has to get COVID 19 due to a lack of having a facemask. Giving facemasks to the community before Thanksgiving assures a safer get together for this holiday season. ”
