Jason D’Avolio Indicted For Murder Of Wife

Jason D’Avolio, of Rome, has been indicted by an Oneida County Grand Jury on a county of Second Degree Murder in connection with the death of his wife, Kerilee D’Avolio.

Jason D’Avolio is accused of killing his wife with a gun shot to the back of her head. The incident took place in late July in Rome. The indictment also contends that he removed her body from the murder scene and put in a garbage dumpster in Rome.

Jason has also been charged with Concealment of a Human Corpse, part of the indictment.

The couple were said to be in the early stages of a divorce. Mr. D’Avolio had gone to his brother’s place of business in Chadwicks, with the couple’s two children, and told his bother that he had killed his wife.

Oneida County Sheriff divers recovered a long gun from the Erie Canal, in Rome, not far from the couple’s home. Rome Police had been searching dumpsters for the body of Kerrilee D’Avolio. Her remains were recovered at a land fill in the Town of Lee.

Jason D’Avolio has been in the Oneida County Jail, held on a charge of Concealing a Corpse.
