It’s Official, Palmieri win Democrats Primary


Meola Wins In 4th Ward

In final official results of the Oneida County primary elections, incumbent Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri’s primary night lead held. In fact, his vote margin over Common Councilman Joseph Marino expanded. Vote totals show this result.

  • Robert Palmieri 1,685
  • Joseph Marino 1,430

The Palmieri lead grew from 122 votes on primary night to 255 in the final results. Palmieri carried the 4th Ward in the city, by 103 votes. The 4th Ward is the district that is currently represented by Marino.

In the other closely disputed race from primary night, in the Democrat’s race for the nomination for 4th Ward Councilman, Frank Meola defeated Fred Bruzzese by 50 votes, Meola 362 and Bruzzese 412. Meola, the former Common Council President, lead by only 8 votes on primary night.
