UPDATE – MVCC Shelter In Place Lifted.

Lockout Lifted At East Utica City Schools

Mohawk Valley Community College has lifted their shelter in place advisory and Proctor High School, Columbus Elementary and Albany Street Elementary schools in Utica have lifted their lockout. These conditions were put in place, as a precaution, after an incident on the campus of MVCC Friday afternoon.

Just before 1:00PM Friday afternoon, there was a report of a fight involving a large number of people at MVCC. Utica Police and the Oneida County Sheriff Office were called to back up MVCC Campus Police.

A release by MVCC to students indicate that there was an altercation. During the altercation, one person was stabbed and another was cut. Utica Police are still investigating. They report that two people suffered minor injuries and were taken to a local hospital. No arrests have been made.

Although the Utica City School’s lockout has been lifted, all afterschool activities for the Utica City School District have been cancelled.
