Sergeant First Class David Fryman joined the U.S. Army in 1993. He’s currently serving his 7th overseas deployment.
David’s current assignment at Bagrahm Air Base in Afghanistan keeps him away from his home in New Hartford. More importantly, it keeps away from his wife Sabrina. David and Sabrina were married a little more than 3 years ago, but they’ve known each other for about 15 years. Sabrina has a 13 year old little girl named Ella. Sabrina says David and Ella have a rich dad-daughter relationshipnd he treats Ella as if she is his own.
Sabrina says David is not just a hero for repeatedly risking his life for his country, but for being by her side when her life was threatened with cancer. Even while living up to his promise to his country, Sabrina says she’s thankful that he’s been able to be by her side during her health uncertainties.
Sabrina and Ella say they hope to have David back home in New Hartford in early 20-14.
Until then, they join their neighbors and friends send packages to David. Sabrina says he’s not only grateful for the packages…he’s humble that people stateside are so thoughtful and loving.
Eyewitness News salutes you, Sergeant David Fryman. We’re proud to have you as our Hometown Hero.
