Holland Patent Teen Accused of Murder Heading for Grand Jury

And the teenager from Holland Patent accused of murdering his stepfather appeared in Trenton Town Court today.  Eyewitness News Reporter Nicole Todd has the latest developments.

The case of 17-year old Austin Parker charged with second-degree murder in the death of his stepfather is heading to a grand jury.

During the hearing, Adam Tyksinski, Austin Parker’s lawyer appealed to Judge J. Patrick Van Buskirk to seal any records moving forward due to his young age of 17.

The details of the charges were waived by the defense.  The case is moving forward to Oneida County Court where they are expecting a grand jury.

Parker is being held in Oneida County Jail without bail.

Two people at the hearing who identified themselves as Austin’s family members, said to me that they are still trying to make sense of this and that he has been through a lot in his young life.
