Herkimer County is now working on two solar farm projects that will benefit the residents of the county. The first project is called ‘Solar One’ and will be developed by Nexamp.
Solar One will be positioned just south of the Little Falls Municipal Golf Course. It will house 7,900 solar panels. The site preparation is expected to begin within the coming month.
Residents can subscribe to Nexamp in order to get the benefits of the installed solar panels. The company will come to your home and analyze the electric usage, then they will allocate a portion of the farm’s energy to your home. Nexamp says the value of the power generated is applied as a credit on the electric bill.
Nexamp expects 600-700 homes will subscribe to both of the installed Little Falls farms.
