HERKIMER, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – Herkimer-Fulton-Hamilton-Otsego BOCES showed off what their schools can do in a display showcasing their programming.
BOCES, which hosts classes for ten different school districts in Herkimer County, hosted their O-M-H School Boards Institute Educational Showcase on Thursday, March 16. The showcase, which brought in school boards from 35 districts in Oneida, Madison and Herkimer Counties, showed off programs from all ten districts and their own Vocational Tech classes.
Programs ranged from Little Falls’ “Engineering by Design,” aimed at students in Kindergarten through fifth grade, to Mount Markham’s “Agricultural Education” program.
During the showcase, attendees were also given a tour of the house Herkimer BOCES’ Building Construction program has been building during the school year. The school has the only program in the state that builds a full house every school year.
“Board members are volunteers who work tirelessly to support students and the staff that serves those students,” Herkimer BOCES Assistant Superintendent of Instructional Services Kati Ferguson said. “We could only do this work with their continued support and commitment. Tonight is our opportunity to thank them for all of their hard work and show them that their dedication is truly impacting students’ futures.”
