(WUTR-TV) — When the COVID vaccine first hit the shelves many people were skeptical about getting it. Now doses are hard to come by, there’s a growing demand to get vaccinated.
“I think there’s some pinned up demand right? And people are shifting, you know people want to get back to normal.” – Nicole Simpson, Department Chair of Economics, Colgate University
Simpson says as more companies create their version of the vaccine, overall availability will increase.
“Once the Johnson and Johnson vaccine gets up and running right they’re ready to go, once it gets approved, I think the supply will increase quickly you know in a month or so.” – Nicole Simpson, Department Chair of Economics, Colgate University
Simpson explains that in order to get back to a new normal more people have to get vaccinated.
“Some places of employment are discussing whether they’ll mandate workers to get vaccinated in order to come back to work, I think you know public facing jobs they should be. Right, and that’s grocery stores, restaurants, and bars. . . I hope that people realize that it’s not only about them it’s about the community broadly, it’s about the economy broadly, but we need everyone to get vaccinated.” – Nicole Simpson, Department Chair of Economics, Colgate University
