An area Girl Scout troop has donated fourteen-hundred dollars to the Salvation Army. The money was raised from a dinner they held that was attended by more than three-hundred people. It will go towards helping flooding victims get back on their feet. The girl scouts also collected food donations that they passed along to food banks for those affected. Parents say the experience not only helped those in need, but taught the girls a powerful lesson.
“And I just kept telling everyone that I was speechless about everything that happened because everybody came together in less than a week and we had a lot of venders make donations and it was just overwhelming what happened.”
As always, donations can be made to the salvation army to assist in their flood relief efforts.
