German Flatts in ‘significant fiscal stress’


New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli released his annual Fiscal Stress Test results in September. Two municipalities in Herkimer County, the City of Little Falls and the Town of German Flatts are both in a form of fiscal stress.

According to the Comptroller’s Fiscal Stress Monitoring System, any municipality that had a fiscal score of 65 or higher is regarded to be under Significant Stress. The Town of German Flatts has Fiscal Score of 81.7 and the Schenevus Central School District has a score of 66.7.
