UTICA, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – The Utica Fire Department responded to a structure fire in Utica where one occupant was sent to the hospital.
At approximately 10:30 AM on Friday, March 10, Utica Police, Fire and Emergency services were called to Lee Boulevard in the City of Utica, where fire and heavy smoke was coming from the second floor. Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire, which was confined to a bedroom and the adjoining attic above. Damage to the house is confined to those two rooms.
One adult occupant was transported to a local hospital by the ambulance corps for smoke inhalation. The Red Cross was on the scene to help those displaced by the fire, as well as Utica Police.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Utica Fire Marshal.
