Fire In East Utica Has Crews Fighting Flames All Day

The Remet Corporation had one of their buildings catch fire around 7am on March 8th. Multiple fire companies had responded to the scene in order to help fight the fire. Fire fighters started inside and outside the building, at which point the fire became too strong to stay inside. The building housed mostly wax materials used to help mold metals. Although there were chemicals in the building at the time of the fire, Utica Fire Department Chief Scott Ingersoll said all dangerous chemicals were housed in a seperate building well away from the fire. Eyewitness News reporter Parker Tully was on scene and has more.
