West Canada Valley softball gets revenge over LaFargeville.

After losing last year’s Class D final to the Red Knights, the Indians score three in the fourth inning en route to a 9-1 win to take home the title.  It’s West Canada Valley’s first sectional championship since 1991.

Jordyn Conte was superb on the mound tossing a 3-hitter with six strikeouts in the complete game win.  Kristen Nicholson led the offense with 3 RBIs on the day.

Tiger Woods’ DUI arrest has a connection to our area.  According to the police report, Woods was carrying a Turning Stone ‘elite’ card at the time of his arrest. 

Elite cards are described as the highest level of player cards at the casino.  Woods’ last known appearance at Turning Stone came in 2015.

If Derek Jeter is going to buy an MLB team, he’s going to do it without Jeb Bush.  Jeter and Bush reportedly dropped their bid attempt to buy the Miami Marlins due to a lack of funds.

Jeter can still team up with another group interested in buying the Marlins or another team.
