The Oriskany boys basketball team can check off another accomplishment. On Monday they took down Westmoreland 74-42 to finish 20-0 on the regular season. Marcus Smithlin and Anthony Warcup each had 19 in the win. Westmoreland’s Jack Acquaviva finished the game with 12; good enough to catapult himself into the 1,000 point club. Bulldogs end the regular season 12-8.
Plus, Whitesboro used a gutsy performance from Nate Salisbury as they took down Oneida in a 48-39 defensive showdown.
Finally, the New York Knicks have decided to part ways with Derek Fisher. Fisher compiled an ugly 40-96 record in his season and a half. That total good enough for the second lowest winning percentage in franchise history, behind only Larry Brown. Assistant Coach Curt Rambis has been selected as the interim coach.
