Audrey Dunning, a local attorney, has announced her candidacy in the 51st State Senate District.  Her announcement focused on education and a desire for change in Albany.

Dunning is running as a Democrat.  She said tonight that she’s seen how the system serves itself and not the residents of the empire state.

Dunning says the school system is letting New York children down and is asking for change.

“I know I have a tough road ahead, challenging an incumbent who has a stockpile of campaign money through his many terms in office. But money should not and cannot be a deciding factor in an election.  I’m asking for your support and for your vote. If people with integrity, stand up and vote for change, change will happen.

At the moment, Dunning, and Republican incumbent Senator James Seward of Oneonta, are the only candidates in the race.
