Deep Freeze to Fight Cancer

News

A fraternity at Utica College is braving the elements this week for its annual “deep freeze for cancer” fundraiser.

Members of ‘Alpha Chi Rho’ are camping out around the clock this week, Monday through Friday.
They’re trying to raise $5,000 dollars for the American Cancer Society.
A student says while the tradition brings students together, it’s more important to help researchers find a cure.

Samuel Bensin of Alpha Chi Rho says, “We have people coming from Strebel Center which is right behind us, and they just come to see what we’re up to, we have friends of all the brothers coming out here, and just hanging out here and staying warm with us. Even though they’re out here for a little while the support is just great. Everybody comes out here, even staff. They all like to come out and see what we’re up to. “
