D’Avolio Trial Continues With More Witness Testimonies

UTICA, N.Y. (WUTR-TV) — it was day two of testimony in the murder trial of Jason D’Avolio today. Prosecutors showed the discovery of the body of Kerrilee D’Avolio in a landfill in the Town of Ava during testimony.

Thursday’s focus in court was connecting Jason D’Avolio with the clean up of the crime scene at the Rome house that he shared with his wife and the disposal of Mrs. D’Avolio’s body. To support the contention that Jason did the clean up job at the house, an employee of Price Chopper in Rome was called to the stand to verify that Jason D’Avolio purchased the supplies on July 29, 2019, shortly after 3:30 a.m.

The jury was shown video of how the body of Kerrilee was found wrapped in a sheet inside a trailer at the Ava landfill on July 30, 2019. A Rome Police investigator also testified about evidence uncovered in the D’Avolio home. Jason D’Avolio is accused of second degree murder for killing his wife. The trial will resume Friday morning.
