School is out for summerbut for some students, the classroom is actually the place to be. The “Staley Sleuths” Summer Enrichment Programis a three week camp forstudents entering 5th, 6th and 7th grades.
The theme this year is C.S.I.and students, led by Staley Elementaryteachers, follow clues and gather evidence to solve a mystery. The teachers say the program is a great wayfor kids to keep their brains sharp over the summer break
“It gives them the chance to make the choices andthe decisions and the follow the evidence that they gather and do the thinking, like I keep saying critical thinking, but it’s them making the choices anddeciding ‘where do I have to go from here?” said Jessica Lattimore, a 6thgrade teacher at the school.
There are about 40 students enrolled in the enrichmentprogram. At the end of thethree week session the kids present their CSI projectsto their parents, friends and school boardmembers.
