UTICA — The Oneida County and New York State Departments of Health will be offering targeted testing for Utica residents in the 13501 zip code in response to an increase in positive COVID-19 cases.
The testing is available only to those living in the 13501 zip code and is on an appointment-only basis from Nov. 23-25. It will take place at the county-owned Union Station facility, which is located at 321 Main Street in Utica.
“With positive cases in Oneida County continuing to grow, it was necessary to make this site available to increase the testing capacity of the region,” said Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente Jr. “I strongly encourage residents of 13501 who have recently attended gatherings of any kind, and did not adhere to the proper health precautions and protocols, to make an appointment and get tested.”
Testing appointments can be made by visiting: https://apps.health.ny.gov/doh2/applinks/cdmspr/2/counties?OpID=6500060. The appointments will be made for the following times:
• Monday, November 23, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
• Tuesday, November 24, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• Wednesday, November 25, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Those under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian present to sign consent to be tested. Individuals with symptoms or exposure to positive cases are to quarantine until results are returned. Positive cases will be notified of how long they must remain in quarantine by the Oneida County health Department.
As a reminder, if an individual is exposed to a positive case and on quarantine, a negative test does not mean that quarantine can be broken.
“It is extremely important that everyone follows the emergency regulations banning gatherings and continues to wear face coverings in public and maintain distance of six feet,” said Oneida County Director of Health Phyllis Ellis, BSN, MS, FACHE.
