COVID-19 Daily Briefing in Oneida County: Wednesday, July 15th

ONEIDA COUNTY, N.Y. (WUTR-TV) — In Wednesday’s update, Oneida County reported 18 ‌new‌ ‌positive‌ ‌cases‌ ‌of‌ ‌Coronavirus‌; This‌ ‌brings‌ the ‌total ‌to‌ ‌1,790.‌ There are no new COVID-19 related fatalities; the total number of deaths is 109. 201 cases are active, 20 patients are hospitalized, 7 of which are nursing home residents, and 1,497 cases are resolved.

In Wednesday’s update, the Herkimer County Government Facebook page reported 3 new positive cases of Coronavirus, the total is 217. 33 cases are active, 4 patients are currently hospitalized, 4 people have passed away and 180 patients have recovered.

The Otsego County Department of Health has not released a COVID-19 update since Friday, July 10th.

In Wednesday’s update from the governor’s office, Cuomo announced that New York state will send PPE and COVID-19 test kits to Atlanta to help with their efforts against the number of rising cases. The delivery will arrive Friday, July 17th and it will include:

  • 7,500 VTM Test Kits
  • 7,500 Gowns
  • 7,500 Gloves
  • 7,500 N95 Masks
  • 7,500 Face Shields
  • 2.5 pallets of Styrofoam Coolers
  • 1,250 Gallons of Hand Sanitizer
