COVID-19 Daily Briefing in Oneida County: Thursday, June 4th, Early Edition

ONEIDA COUNTY, N.Y. (WUTR-TV) — In Wednesday’s update, Oneida County reported 6 COVID-19 related fatalities. County Executive Anthony Picente said, This is a stark reminder that we are far from escaping the deadly grip of this horrible pandemic. We must continue to remain on alert and follow the guidelines that help prevent the spread of this virus. As we move through a safe and controlled reopening of Oneida County, we cannot let our guard down for a second.” 5 of the new fatalities were nursing home residents and the total number of deaths is 55. 

The county also reported 15‌ new‌ ‌positive‌ ‌cases‌ ‌of‌ ‌Coronavirus‌, this‌ ‌brings‌ ‌the‌ ‌total ‌to‌ ‌1,058.‌ 4 of these new cases are nursing home residents. 393 cases are active, 50 patients are hospitalized and 610 cases are resolved. 

In‌ Wednesday’s‌ ‌update,‌ ‌the‌ ‌Herkimer‌ ‌County‌ ‌Government‌ ‌Facebook‌ ‌page‌ ‌reported‌ ‌1 ‌new‌ ‌positive‌ ‌case‌ ‌of‌ ‌Coronavirus.‌ ‌The‌ ‌county’s‌ ‌total‌ ‌is‌ ‌131.‌ 20 cases are active, one ‌patient is ‌hospitalized,‌ ‌4 ‌people‌ ‌have‌ ‌passed‌ ‌away‌ ‌and‌ ‌107 ‌patients‌ ‌have‌ ‌recovered.‌ ‌

The Otsego County Department of Health did not provide an update of COVID-19 cases for Wednesday, June 3rd. 

In Wednesday’s daily address, the governor announced that outdoor dining at restaurants are now included in Phase II of reopening, beginning today, June 4th. Outdoor tables must be 6 feets apart and all staff must wear face coverings when not seated.
