COVID-19 Daily Briefing in Oneida County: Thursday, June 25th

ONEIDA COUNTY, N.Y. (WUTR-TV) — In Thursday’s update, Oneida County reported 28 ‌new‌ ‌positive‌ ‌cases‌ ‌of‌ ‌Coronavirus‌; this‌ ‌brings‌ ‌the‌ ‌total ‌to‌ ‌1,432.‌ There are two new COVID-19 related fatalities; the total number of deaths is 90. 230 cases are active, 12 patients are hospitalized, 6 of which are nursing home residents, and 1,065 cases are resolved.

In today’s update, the Herkimer County Government Facebook page reported no new positive cases of Coronavirus, the total is 155. 15 cases are active, one patient is currently hospitalized, 4 people have passed away and 136 patients have recovered.

The Otsego County Department of Health has not released a COVID-19 update since June 22nd. 

In Thursday’s update from the governor’s office it confirmed 749 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to approximately 390,415. On Wednesday there were 17 new deaths, 996 patients are hospitalized and 270 patients are in ICU. 

Cuomo stated, “After three months of New Yorkers working hard, doing the right thing and taking this seriously, the state has its lowest COVID-19 hospitalization rate since this started.”

Tomorrow, Central New York, Finger Lakes, Mohawk Valley, North Country and Southern Tier will enter phase 4 of reopening. As m

entioned in yesterday’s briefing, phase 4 will include low-risk outdoor arts and entertainment, such as zoos and botanical gardens at 33% capacity. Low-risk indoor arts and entertainment, including museums and aquariums at 25% capacity. Religious gatherings will now be allowed to have a 33% capacity and there can be social gatherings of up to 50 people.
