COVID-19 Daily Briefing in Oneida County: Thursday, July 2nd

ONEIDA COUNTY, N.Y. (WUTR-TV) — In Thursday’s update, Oneida County reported 32 ‌new‌ ‌positive‌ ‌cases‌ ‌of‌ ‌Coronavirus‌; This‌ ‌brings‌ the ‌total ‌to‌ ‌1,616.‌ There is one new COVID-19 related fatality; the total number of deaths is 92. 209 cases are active, 35 patients are hospitalized, and 1,315 cases are resolved.

In Thursday’s update, the Herkimer County Government Facebook page reported 6 new positive cases of Coronavirus, the total is 178. 30 cases are active, one patient is currently hospitalized, 4 people have passed away and 144 patients have recovered.

Also on Thursday, the Otsego County Department of Health confirmed one new positive case of Coronavirus, the total now at 77. No patients are currently hospitalized, 5 people have passed away and 70 patients have recovered. 

In today’s update from the governor’s office, Cuomo announced $4.3 million in federal funding for county emergency management agencies and New York City to support COVID-19 planning and operational readiness. This will cover costs associated with COVID-19-related planning, training, travel, support from consultants or contractors, equipment purchases, and facility construction and maintenance. The New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services will administer this funding on behalf of FEMA.

On Wednesday 10 residents in the state passed away from COVID-19. There are 878 patients hospitalized, 209 patients are in ICU and over 70,000 patients have been discharged. Also on Wednesday, there were 875 more positive cases, bringing the statewide total to 394,954.  

There will not be any COVID-19 daily briefings in the upcoming week. The next briefing will be Monday, July 13th.
