COVID-19 Daily Briefing in Oneida County: Friday, July 31st

ONEIDA COUNTY, N.Y. (WUTR-TV) — In Friday’s report, Oneida County confirmed 12 new‌ ‌positive‌ ‌cases‌ ‌of‌ ‌Coronavirus‌; This‌ ‌brings‌ the ‌total ‌to‌ ‌2,045.‌ There are no new COVID-19 related fatalities; The total number of deaths is 115. 197 cases are active, 13 patients are hospitalized, 4 of which are nursing home residents, and 1,733 cases are resolved.

In Friday’s update, the Herkimer County Government Facebook page reported 2 new positive cases of Coronavirus, the total is now 263. 38 cases are active, 1 patient is hospitalized, 5 people have passed away and 220 patients have recovered.

The Otsego County Department of Health has not released a COVID-19 update since July 24th.

Currently the state has 576 hospitalizations, 70 intubations and 140 patients in ICU. In today’s release from the state, Governor Cuomo, “So much of our ability to fight this destructive virus is dependent on what each of us does in day-to-day life, and social distancing, wearing masks and washing hands make a huge difference as we stay New York Smart. I ask New Yorkers to continue practicing those good habits and closely following state guidance, and I urge local governments to enforce that guidance.”
