Codes Fight Over Olbiston Apartments


The City of Utica is now in a codes battle with the owners of the Olbiston Apartments. It has escilated to the point that some living in the bulding were left without power. City Officials say that the 19th century building is deteriorating. Problems with the stairs and roof, among other violations, have now brought this matter to the New York State Supreme Court to make sure the repairs are completed. Utica Mayor Rob Palmieri says this is all about safety, and he is calling on Olbiston to take responsibility.
