Malik Clea, 26-years-old of South Carolina is accused of attempting to murder 36-year-old Will Jefferson of West Utica last June.
Clea was charged with Attempted Murder in the second-degree, Criminal Use of a Firearm in the first-degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the second-degree.
He appeared in court today for a Huntley Hearing (how police obtained statements from the defendant). Three officers from the Utica Police Department gave testimony about the night they arrested Clea.
On the night in question, the officers testified that a BOLO was dispatched to them, “be on the look out,” for a black male, white t-shirt and beard.
A jury trial will start Feb. 24, 2020.
