A Chadwicks man involved in a one-car motor vehicle crash walked home and thentold police about it two hours later.

New Hartford Police were called to the scene of the crash onMohawk Street.  According to officials, 61-year-old William R. Sweezeywent over the west side of the roadway, over an embankment, and into a creekbed. 

 Two hours later, he finallyreported the accident and was sent to St. Luke’s Hospital after complaining ofneck and back pain.  

 Sweezey was issuedtraffic tickets for failure to maintain his lane, unsafe speed, and for leavingthe scene of an accident.  

He is to appear in the Town of New Hartford court at a laterdate.
