The Toronto Maple Leafs signed the last big NHL free agent hold out at the deadline on Saturday.

In order to make room for William Nylander, Toronto had to trim their roster and did so on Monday, by trading with the Vancouver Canucks.

Utica Comets forward Michael Carcone has been traded to Toronto for Maple Leafs winger Josh Levio.

Carcone has spent his pro career in Utica. He had 15 goals and 12 assists in 68 games with the Comets last season. So far this season, Carcone was fourth on the team in scoring with six goals and 11 assists in 20 games. Carcone has been assigned to the Toronto Marlies.
